Reckless Abandon

We were thrilled to partner with the fantastic guys at 4Front Theatre Company for their moving production of Reckless Abandon.  Jon, Pete and Miriam all got involved, with Jon and Pete working as actors, Jon also working as set designer, and Miriam casting a directorial eye for the team, as a consultant-director.  The production is touring all throughout the coming year.  For more information click the image below.

The play is based on the real-life story of five missionary families who took the gospel to the previously un-reached Waodani people, a murderous tribe in the Ecuadorian jungle, in 1956. Their commitment to spreading the message and love of Christ, even in the face of death, is an inspiration to all.  Jon and Pete both played missionary men, Nate Saint and Pete Flemming, who were both tragically murdered by tribesmen during their outreach efforts.

The true heart of this story comes from the amazing bravery, forgiveness and commitment of those who continued the mission to this fearsome and murderous tribe, even after the death of several of their team.  Their determination to see the tribe saved from the cycle of feuds and murders that had brought them to the brink of self-destruction, and for them to be show the light of a new life, is really quite astonishing and an inspirational challenge.

All of us have been really pleased to work with such a great team, and to make new friendships (and renew some old ones).  For information on the brilliant work they do, check out 4Front Theatre’s website.
