Jon Buckeridge – Founder and Artistic Director
Jon is a classically trained actor, writer, and director based in the West Midlands, characterised by piercing eyes, malleable physicality, and electric stage energy. Since graduating from the University of Wales in 2007 Jon has developed a broad experience of stage and screen performance, as well as establishing himself as an expert storyteller, varied vocal performer, gifted singer, multi-instrumentalist, and performance-combat specialist.
Alongside his work as a freelance performer, workshop-leader, and creative consultant with companies including Heady Conduct and 4Front Theatre, Jon has enjoyed several seasons in repertory theatre companies, including management of Red Balloon Theatre Company, and Saltmine Theatre Company. Acting highlights include playing MacDuff in Macbeth, John Faustus in Dr Faustus and Lucifer in From Eden to Eternity.
Jon is an established writer and director, and credits include A Long Road Home ( – Broadway Baby and The Stage) Dreamkeepers ( – Broadway Baby), and The Forgotten Tales. He is also highly experienced in set and costume design and construction, and has designed and made the scenographic elements for dozens of companies.
Jon established Parable Arts in 2014, bringing a group of ridiculously talented artists on board to build the team.
